Made without
Our Beauty Bar is made for the face. It shares the gentle base of our Body Bar and adds luxury oils prized in facial care: vitamin E, rosehip seed oil and prickly pear seed oil.
It cleanses without stripping, so your skin feels soft and balanced rather than squeaky. A small bar goes a long way.

Good to know
A facial bar that respects your skin
Face skin is thinner and often more reactive than the skin on your body, so a cleanser that feels fine on your arms can leave your cheeks tight and dull. Our Beauty Bar is built for the face. It starts with our gentle cold process base and adds three oils prized in facial care: rosehip seed oil, prickly pear seed oil and vitamin E. The goal is a clean, comfortable face, not a squeaky one.
What each ingredient does
The cold process base
Saponified olive, coconut, shea, castor and avocado oils create a small, dense lather that rinses easily. Because the bar is true soap rather than a detergent bar, it keeps its naturally occurring glycerin, which helps skin feel soft after washing.
Rosehip seed oil
Rosehip seed oil is a lightweight, vitamin rich oil that many people love for dry or tired looking skin. It leaves a smooth, conditioned feel.
Prickly pear seed oil
Pressed from the tiny seeds of the cactus fruit, prickly pear seed oil is one of the most treasured oils in facial care. It feels silky and light and helps skin look smooth and radiant.
Vitamin E
Vitamin E is an antioxidant that helps protect the delicate oils in the bar from going stale, and it adds a conditioning touch on skin.
What we leave out
- No SLS or SLES, which can strip the face of its natural oils.
- No synthetic fragrance, a common trigger for facial irritation.
- No parabens, no synthetic dyes and no PEG compounds.
Who it is for
The Beauty Bar suits normal, dry and combination skin, and many people with easily irritated skin like it too. If you are managing a skin condition, our guide to irritants to skip for sensitive skin is a helpful read, and a dermatologist can offer personal guidance.
How to get the most from it
Wet your face with lukewarm water. Rub the bar between damp hands to build a light lather, then massage it over your face with your fingertips for about thirty seconds. Rinse well and pat dry. Hot water can leave skin feeling tight, so keep it warm rather than steaming. Follow with a few drops of facial oil or your usual moisturizer while skin is still slightly damp. Let the bar dry on a draining dish so it lasts as long as possible.
Questions about Beauty Bar
Is it okay to wash your face with bar soap?
Yes, as long as it is a mild bar made for the face. Harsh detergent bars and heavily fragranced soaps can leave facial skin tight. A gentle cold process facial bar with conditioning oils cleans without that stripped feeling. Rinse well and follow with a moisturizer or facial oil.
Is soap bad for your face's pH?
True soap is naturally alkaline, while skin's surface is slightly acidic. For most people, healthy skin returns to its normal balance soon after rinsing. If your skin is very sensitive or you have a condition such as eczema, talk with a dermatologist about the best cleanser for you.
What does rosehip oil do in a facial soap?
In a facial bar, rosehip seed oil adds a conditioning, smooth feel and helps the bar feel less drying than plain soap. Much of its effect is in how skin feels after rinsing. For more of rosehip's benefits, many people also use it as a leave on facial oil.
How often should I wash my face with a facial soap bar?
Most people do well washing once or twice a day, usually at night to remove sunscreen and the day's grime, and optionally in the morning. If your skin feels dry, try washing with the bar only in the evening and rinsing with water in the morning.
